Some interesting transitions noted while looking at Playbill.Com:
- From the “Screen to Stage” Department: Moving from the movie screen to the musical stage are “Catch Me If You Can” and the James Dean movie “Giant”. One could say that the “Addams Family” musical is a similar transition, however it is based on the cartoons, not the TV or film versions.
- From the “Stage to Screen” Department: Making the transition from the stage back to the screen is “Damn Yankees”, which is being remade with Jim Carrey as the devil. Jake Gyllenhaal will be Joe Boyd.
- From the “Small Screen to Stage” Department: From the folks that gave us the Brady Bunch musical, we get “Gilligan’s Island: The Musical”. Will it never end?
