A few news stories to keep you amused, while I start cleaning the house:

From the “The Days of Licorice Pizza” Department: They may be down, but they aren’t out yet. The New York Times has an interesting article on neighborhood record stores, and how they are fighting back. I have fond memories of visiting the local stores: Licorice Pizza and Music Odyssey on Wilshire Blvd. I still like to support the independents, when I can find them.
From the “What Are They Teaching Kids These Days? Department: Yup, it does exist. There’s a book on “My Mommy Is Having Plastic Surgery”. The messages we give our children.
From the “Defenders of Cyberspace” Department: There’s an interesting article in the SGV Tribute about the Mt. Sac Cyber Defense Team, which is advancing to the National Collegate Cyber Defense Contest. I first learned about this team because my company was one of the sponsors of the local competition.
